Many software are often not available in the official Ubuntu app repository which makes it hard to find convenient ways to download applications. Bleeding Edge is an open source shell script designed for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Ubuntu, allowing easy installation of repositories, keys, and software which are not available in the Ubuntu repository. You can also use Bleeding Edge to purge outdated packages from your system. It was formerly available for Ubuntu Lucid and Maverick, however, a package for Natty (Ubuntu 11.04) was released a few hours back on Sourceforge. You can use bleeding Edge to easily download important software and repositories like Getdeb, Dropbox, Flash Player, Acrobat Reader, Java, etc.

Just download the .sh file and access its properties from right click menu. Head over to the Permissions tab and enable Allow executing file as Program option. Double click on the file and select Run.

When you receive the prompt to run Bleeding Edge in the Terminal, select Yes. This will display list of available items which you can download, these include, Acrobat Reader, additional repositories, Boxee, Dropbox, Flash Player, Getdeb Repository, Picasa, Java and several other important software, repositories and keys. Select the desired items you wish to install and click OK.

You will receive a prompt to confirm your selection, after which the selected items will start downloading.
